After Imran Pasha of Padarayanapura, 2nd infected corporator is Mujahid Pasha of Siddapura
BENGALURU:
BBMP’s Siddapura ward corporator Mujahid Pasha (39) has become the second elected representative to be infected with the deadly coronavirus.
Pasha, an SDPI corporator, is getting treated at a private hospital on Bannerghatta Road. After complaining of feverishness, he was admitted to a hospital where he tested positive late on Thursday evening.
The Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Department will make an official announcement about the case later on Friday, even as BBMP officials have confirmed the development to thebengalurulive.com, adding that the area near his house in Siddapura has been sealed.
Sources said Pasha was constantly on the move in his ward, which is itself affected by the virus. He is also said to have visited his sister’s house in Pulakeshinagar, where he stayed for 4 days.
Sources said BBMP officials had maintained a tight lip after the corporator made a request not to publicize his case in the media. Pasha’s family members and other primary contacts are being closely monitored in home quarantine.
