Dr. V. Ram Prasath Manohar, Chairman of Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board
BENGALURU: If you have been illegally connected to sewerage water, it is imperative that you take action to rectify this situation by May 7. Dr. V. Ram Prasath Manohar, Chairman of Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, has made it clear that unauthorized connections must be legalized by this deadline.
In an official statement released on Sunday, Dr. Manohar emphasized the importance of complying with the Water Board Act. Those who have illegally connected to sewerage water are urged to submit an application to the Water Board promptly. Failure to do so by May 7, will result in serious consequences, as any unauthorized connections will be addressed in accordance with the board’s regulations.
It is crucial to adhere to the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Act-1964, which mandates that all citizens of Bangalore must obtain water and sewerage connections from water board. Additionally, large buildings are required to implement Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) and utilize treated water for non-domestic purposes.
BWSSB is currently conducting a survey to identify individuals who are violating these regulations by diverting sewage water into the board’s sewer pipe or rainwater canal. Those found to be in violation will face strict repercussions.
Please ensure that your connections are legal and compliant with the regulations set forth by the Water Board. Failure to do so may result in severe penalties. Let us work together to maintain the integrity of our city’s water and sewerage systems, he added.
