Bengaluru: In a significant relief for commuters in west Bengaluru, South Western Railway has announced an experimental stoppage for four pairs of express trains at Nayandahalli railway station under the Bengaluru Division. The new stoppages will come into effect from February 17, 2026, aimed at improving passenger convenience and local connectivity.
According to an official release issued by Dr. Manjunath Kanamadi, Chief Public Relations Officer, South Western Railway, Hubballi, the following trains will halt at Nayandahalli:
Train No. 16215 Mysuru–KSR Bengaluru Chamundi Express will arrive at 8:45 AM and depart at 8:46 AM from February 17. In the return direction, Train No. 16216 KSR Bengaluru–Mysuru Chamundi Express will arrive at 6:39 PM and depart at 6:40 PM.
Train No. 17307 Mysuru–Bagalkot Basava Express will arrive at 3:16 PM and depart at 3:17 PM from February 17. Meanwhile, Train No. 17308 Bagalkot–Mysuru Basava Express, effective for journeys commencing February 16, will arrive at 8:19 AM and depart at 8:20 AM.
Train No. 16235 Tuticorin–Mysuru Express will halt at 6:49 AM and depart at 6:50 AM from February 17. Its counterpart, Train No. 16236 Mysuru–Tuticorin Express, will arrive at 8:14 PM and depart at 8:15 PM.
Additionally, Train No. 16535 Mysuru–Pandharpur Gol Gumbaz Express will arrive at 5:40 PM and depart at 5:41 PM from February 17, while Train No. 16536 Pandharpur–Mysuru Gol Gumbaz Express will arrive at 7:44 AM and depart at 7:45 AM.
Railway officials stated that the stoppage is being introduced on an experimental basis and will be reviewed based on passenger response and operational feasibility. The move is expected to significantly benefit daily commuters traveling between Mysuru, Bengaluru, Bagalkot, Tuticorin, and Pandharpur routes via Nayandahalli.
