BENGALURU:
A 60-year-old female resident of Kunigal committed suicide after being admitted to KC General Hospital in Malleswaram with Covid-19.
The elderly woman was staying at Rajgopal Nagar in Bengaluru and was confirmed infected on June 18. She was admitted to KC General Hospital, where she took the extreme step at around 2:30 am on Friday.
As per sources in the hospital, her body was found hanging in a washroom in the hospital. “During the regular inspection, the hospital staff noticed that the patient was missing from her bed. She was found hanging in the washroom,” a source said.
The woman’s daughter-in-law and grandson are also infected with the virus and have been admitted to the same hospital.
The Malleswaram police have registered an unnatural death case.
The case becomes the 7th non-Covid death in Karnataka and the second in Bengaluru. Earlier, a Covid patient had jumped to his death from an upper floor at Victoria Hospital.
