Even ambulances are giving crater-filled road a miss
BENGALURU:
In just 6 months after relaying the 8-km stretch of Hosa Road that links Hosur Road with Sarjapur Road, the road, passing through Kasavanahalli, is back to being its old crater-filled self. Commuters and locals are worried that BBMP’s shoddy work can lead to fatal accidents.
The road’s condition is so bad that even ambulances en route to hospitals have to think twice before using Hosa Road. Neither the civic body nor any politicians have cross-checked the quality of the relaying work by the contractors.
One commuter, Arunabha Bhattacharya, expressed his anger over the condition of the road. He tweeted: “This road (Hosa Road) was repaired, less than 6 months old..with hardly any traffic in this period due to lockdown. How is it possible for it to get damaged so badly?” questioning the Special Commissioner, BBMP, and MLA Aravind Limbavali.
He added, “It is pretty worrying if things don’t even last 6 months.”

‘Save Bellandur’, a forum for the development of the Bellandur area, tweeted from the handle @kdevforum: “This week they will asphalt and fix Kasavanahalli road as per update…”
“…We all should feel elated that while layouts suffer, e.g., Shubh Enclave below and Owners’ Court, KPC Layout,Tulasi Layout, CSB Layout, etc., at least major roads are commutable. That’s the saving grace, even ambulance can’t serve people here.”
