Hassan/Bengaluru: A man was allegedly subjected to a brutal assault by security personnel and police officers at HIMS Hospital after being accused of mobile phone theft.
Eyewitnesses report that two security guards, employed by the Detective Security Agency, and two on-duty police constables, allegedly struck the man repeatedly with batons (“lathis”) on his back, head, hands, and legs.

The alleged beating continued despite the man’s desperate pleas for mercy and him falling to his feet begging for forgiveness. The assault reportedly occurred both inside and outside the hospital premises, and was carried out in the rain.
The incident has ignited public outrage, with many condemning the alleged brutality of the security guards and police personnel. The behavior of the security guards, described by some as “animalistic,” has raised serious concerns about their training, conduct, and the accountability of the security agency.
Authorities have yet to comment on the incident or confirm if an investigation is underway.
