Koramangala–JP Nagar on High Alert for New Year’s Eve: Bengaluru South City Corporation Issues Powerful New Safety Orders — Here’s What Changes for You!

Bengaluru: If you’re planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Koramangala or JP Nagar, here’s something you must know—Bengaluru’s civic agencies have quietly rolled out one of the biggest safety operations of the year, and it directly affects where you walk, party, park, and even how quickly you get medical help.

In a high-level meeting today, Bengaluru South City Corporation‘s Additional Commissioner Naveen Kumar Raju (IAS officer) issued a series of strict, time-bound orders to police, BESCOM, health teams, and other officials — all aimed at preventing a repeat of previous New Year chaos in the city’s busiest party zones.

Police Given Total Command

Civic officials in Koramangala and JP Nagar have been told to work hand-in-hand with the Police Department, implementing every advisory immediately. Crowd movement, pub clusters, road control — police instructions will now override everything else.

Koramangala, JP Nagar Pub Streets to Be Flooded With Light

BESCOM has been ordered to ensure zero dark spots on New Year’s Eve.
If any area near pubs, bars or party hotspots is dimly lit, temporary high-intensity floodlights must be installed the same day.

Koramangala–JP Nagar on High Alert for New Year’s Eve: Bengaluru South City Corporation Issues Powerful New Safety Orders — Here’s What Changes for You!

Emergency Medical Teams Stationed Near You

New Year revellers will see a stronger medical presence than ever:

  • 10 emergency beds already reserved at St. John’s Hospital
  • Additional beds at Jayanagar Government Hospital
  • 6–7 mobile emergency teams with doctors, nurses & ambulances placed across hotspots
If anything happens, help will now be minutes away — not hours.

Power Cuts Not Allowed — BESCOM to Keep Extra Staff at Police Stations

BESCOM must guarantee uninterrupted power in all celebration zones.
Every crucial police station will now have a dedicated BESCOM nodal officer on standby for emergencies.

Corporation to Clear Waste Instantly — Not Next Morning

Corporation has been told to clear: Firecracker debris, Alcohol bottles thrown on streets, Party waste piling up outside pubs immediately, not the next day.

Warning to Contractors: Fix Footpaths & Put Up Signboards NOW

The Projects Department must instantly:

  • Install mandatory signboards at all open work sites
  • Repair broken footpaths in Koramangala and JP Nagar
    No excuses allowed.

Secret WhatsApp War Room to Be Activated

A fast-response WhatsApp group with police, BBMP, BESCOM, health teams and engineers will monitor Koramangala & JP Nagar in real time on New Year’s Eve.

This means any incident — big or small — will get a response within seconds, not hours.
