MYSURU:
The Nagarahole National Park and Tiger Reserve has been closed to visitors from Thursday. Park director Mahesh Kumar said the step was taken as a precautionary measure in view of the coronavirus pandemic in the state.
As per the orders of the Mysuru and Kodagu DCs, the Nagarahole safari has been cancelled.
Visitors from outside Karnataka have to be accommodated in nearby resorts, home stays and lodges, and there are chances of the infection spreading. Hence, the safari in the park, which is bounded by Dhammanakatte in HD Kote taluk, Veerana Hosahalli Gate in Mysuru and Nanachi Gate in Kodagu, has been stopped.
Those who have already booked the safari and cottages have been informed of the closure, director Mahesh Kumar said.
