Bengaluru police chief Pant says PayTM option is in keeping with department’s transparency drive
BENGALURU:
Caught for a traffic violation and find you have no cash to pay the fine? Don’t worry – the Bengaluru cops have incorporated an option to collect digital penalties on the spot via PayTM.
The facility was launched on Monday by city police commissioner Kamal Pant. Though there is an option to pay the fine via debit or credit card, service charges apply, whereas there are no service charges in the PayTM option.
Pant tweeted: “You can now pay traffic fines through #Paytm! In our efforts towards ensuring transparency and contactless enforcement, @blrcitytraffic police has now enabled payment of the fine amount using @Paytm.”
This facility is in addition to the option to pay traffic fines through BangaloreOne, the BTP website, and PDA machines.
