PM Modi will inaugurate the Nov 17-19 event, which will be in hybrid format: Karnataka DyCM
BENGALURU:
US Vice-President Kamala Harris to be invited to participate in Karnataka’s flagship annual event, ‘Bengaluru Tech Summit-2021’ (BTS-2021), DyCM Dr CN Ashwath Narayan said on Monday. He said the event will be held in a hybrid format from Nov 17 to 19.
Addressing a presser after convening a preparatory meeting with officials of the Department of Electronics, IT/BT and S&T and chairpersons of the Vision groups, Dr Narayan, who also holds the IT/BT and S&T portfolios, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be invited to inaugurate the conclave.
In view of a possible third Covid wave, the conclave, bearing the tagline ‘Driving the Next’, will be organised in a hybrid format, with a bigger virtual component and a smaller physical one. Last year, the event was held in a virtual mode for the first time, and there was an overwhelming response with more than 25 countries participating.

The first day of the summit will be ‘Thought Leadership Day’ (Hall of Fame), the second day will be ‘Technologies and Strategies Day’ (Hall of Techies) and the final day will be ‘StartUps Day’ (Hall of Future)
‘Beyond Bengaluru’ events
Prior to this, ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ events will be conducted at Mysuru, Hubballi and Mangaluru in September and October, and the dates will be decided shortly. Central Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Ravishankar Prasad, Harshvardhan and Nitin Gadkari, among others, will be invited to these programmes.
