BENGALURU:
To push the eco-friendly message, around 3,001 clay Gowri-Ganesh statues were distributed free of charge to the public at the Bandhava Institute in the Visvesvaraya complex in Jayanagar.
Jayanagar MLA Soumya Reddy and Bandhava Institute member N Nagaraju distributed the eco-friendly Ganesha statues along with tree seeds to the public free of charge. “The organization has been conducting these programmes for six years in a row,” said Nagaraju.
According to Soumya Reddy, when Ganesh idols made of Plaster of Paris are immersed in tanks, they pollute the water and remain undissolved.Â
